Hello once again, all you quiet people. :)

The Gong release _Gazeuse!_ came up in a recent discussion on the
Allmusic list (ALLMUSIC@AUVM.bitnet). It was mentioned by one guy as
his pick for "best fusion album", and he and I soon started exchanging
comments privately, since this is one item that I'd been unable to
find on CD at a reasonable price. As it turns out, it seems that
_Gazeuse!_ and _Expresso_ are the same album. I always was confused
about _Expresso II_ , since I had never heard of its predecessor, but
apparently it was released under both of the aforementioned titles.
Anyway, I just got my copy of this for $8.72 (+s/h) from Noteworthy...
a much better price than I had seen on this before.
Also recently acquired - Stanley Clarke's _If This Bass Could Only
Talk_ CD. It's not the best fusion you'll ever hear, and Holdsworth is
only on one cut, but for $4.00 used, I could hardly pass it up.
Mr. Holdsworth is also mentioned in the latest installment of Chris
DeRobertis's electronic newsletter, _Update_ . For more details, drop
him a line at UICD@MARIST.bitnet .
Coming soon: European tour dates and an explanation of that "TV
taping" thing...

The correct title of that '88 Stanley Clarke is
_If This Bass Could Only Talk_ (you're missing the ONLY)

The label is: Portrait

Not to nitpick or anything . . .

That's okay... thanks for pointing it out. The trouble that this
subscriber is talking about stems from the fact that I keep 3 separate
discography files right now, and I haven't figured out a way to do a
global update to all three files. :) The one this person got was in
the "new subscriber" file that everyone gets with their initial signon
acknowledgment... the other two files were already okay, but this one
I somehow neglected to update. Thanks again!

Speaking of Stanley Clark,
did the ''Jazz SuperBand''
ever record an album or did they just
tour. For those of you not familar,
out of the blue, ''the jazz superband''
as they were billed came to town in 1988 and
consisted of
Steve Smith - drums
Randy Brecker --Trumpet
Stanly Clark -- Bass
Bernamd Prime -- keyboards (whose synthesizer solo of purple haze
would send shivers down Hendrix's back!)

and you know who on guitar.

I have seen advertisements for an AH "live" CD, recorded during
a 1985 concert in Japan.

Has anybody heard this disc? Is it worth searching for? How's
the sound quality, what tunes are played, ...?

I haven't heard it, no... actually, the only "Live in Japan" disc that
I've heard of has been _Tokyo Dreams_ , which is a Japanese-only laser video
disc (LV) release, and it sure ain't cheap (Toone's in Allentown, PA lists
it at $91.99 - gulp!). My birthday is in June, so this would be the perfect
time for you guys to start passing the collection plate, don't you think? :)
